An enthusiastic Palac Akropolis audience for the first concert featuring Floex and Musetta together: Tomáš Dvořák celebrates his new album “Zorya” with a dreamy set enriched by an interactive visual performance of Veronika Vlková, while Musetta rearrange its first album with a jazz quartet (drums and double bass) and perform three new songs from the forthcoming album Vendetta!
Both the sets ended with a unique featuring with Musetta & Floex together for “Nel Blu” and “Precious Creatures” from Floex’s album and for “Atlantide” and “Sembra sia caduto un ramo” from Musetta’s forthcoming album. An unforgettable night in the magic city of Prague – thanks to everyone who made it happen.

The second Floex album “Zorya“, which includes a track sung by Musetta “Nel Blu”, is out now.
Intimate and enjoyable set of compositions, centered around clarinet and piano are accompanied by Tomáš Dvorák‘s electronic wizardry.

Number of acoustic instruments played by guest musicians from different parts of the World were incorporated with insight into the train and signif icantly developed its track. Would hardly be Casanova without the trumpet of Slovak jazz mastermind Oskar Török, Precious Creature without the vocal of Minneapolis based singer and actor James Rone, Veronika’s Dream without the violoncello of Berlin philharmonic member Tomáš Jamník and Nel Blu without the empathic vocal of Marinella Mastrosimone of Italian electronic stars Musetta.

Album which takes Slavic night guard goddess “Zorya Polunochnaya” as symbol, explores deeper, subconscious and nightly moods of the music. Despite its soundtrack aura, this may be Floex’s most energetic album up to date – very adventurous, ecstatic and almost storytelling. Sounding as contemporary as it is evocative of another time and place. Musica nocturna of these days and especially nights!”

Sound Ciak: Miracolo a Milano

Questa è solo la prima edizione della rassegna Sound Ciak! che si pone come obiettivo quello di raccogliere le più svariate esperienze musicali contemporanee per spiegare meglio quello che sta succedendo oggi nella musica e non solo. Sound Ciak! racchiude già nel titolo la spiegazione dei contenuti: il sound check è l’ultima fase di prova prima di portare la propria esperienza davanti al pubblico, il Ciak è quel suono che dà inizio alla registrazione di immagini sulla pellicola.

E’ questo il contenuto della rassegna: nuovi e vecchi talenti, gruppi e persone che animano il panorama musicale indipendente fanno sentire la loro musica non propriamente convenzionale, che ha la necessità di essere registrata e divulgata.

La musica si unisce o segue a immagini di film: l’evoluzione e l’esperienza del secolo passato hanno fatto si che la musica si slegasse in qualche modo dalle parole unendosi alle immagini, diventando spesso colonna sonora anche delle nostre esperienze e della nostra quotidianità. Un cambiamento che ha stimolato nuove avanguardie musicali e che è il punto di partenza della rassegna.

Tutto questo nella storica cornice del Leoncavallo che in una fase di trasformazione dei propri spazi, li metterà a disposizione nei mercoledì milanesi dando dinamicità a questo percorso.

“Quando la musica è ascoltata, il tempo le si rapprende intorno in un lucente cristallo. Ma non udita la musica precipita simile a una sfera esiziale nel tempo vuoto. A questa esperienza tende spontaneamente la musica nuova, esperienza che la musica meccanica compie ad ogni istante; l’assoluto venir dimenticato. Essa è veramente il manoscritto in una bottiglia”.

Da novembre il Leoncavallo rinnova le sue iniziative proponendo una nuova rassegna “Sound Ciak!”, il cinema in musica.Tutti i mercoledì, alle 22.00 spaccate, inizierà all’interno di uno dei diversi spazi del Leoncavallo, una proiezione di film, documentari, cortometraggi a cui seguirà al termine, l’esibizione musicale di un gruppo, di un dj o di un ensemble tra le migliori che la scena indipendente propone.La scelta dello spazio e della proiezione è affidata completamente al gruppo

Iperuranio is the planet that the FREeSHOUT festival wants to image with the help of as many creative minds as possible. This is the reason why proposals have been requested, to ask everyone to take on the role of creators of a new nation or state and to testimony its existence with their own art.
Hundreds of talents creating new countries inspired by a utopia, by a desire to testify or by an expressive urgency to answer the global crisis.
The nations and the pieces linked to the projects will be displayed next October during the FREeSHOUT festival in Prato, the most deserving one will be awarded with a financing of 1.000 Euros for the realization of a cultural artwork or project.

Sound in a frame

On June 29th, at 10pm, the Magazzini Generali of Milan will host Sound in a Frame, an evening of concerts and exhibits brought to you by IED Milan. Velvet, with special guests Versus, The Glamour Manifesto and My Awesome Mixtape, will be performing in settings with photographic and video installations provided by IED students.

Sound in a Frame is a school project launched in 2008 for the development of photographic and video installations as a backdrop for musical acts and is now in its third year. In March 2010 four groups of Photography and Video Design students were chosen to meet and work alongside the bands Velvet, The Glamour Manifesto, My Awesome Mixtape and Versus. Each student was asked to provide imagery and artistic interpretations for the bands in the form of photos and videos to be exhibited to guests at the Magazzini Generali on the evening of June 29th, as a frame for the musical performances of the bands.

Rolling Stone magazine is the event’s Media Partner, as well as partner of IED Arti Visive for the Rolling Broadcast project, a multimedia creative workshop launched this year for IED students.

The wonderful duo from Italy returns on Morrison Recordings with another great record entitled “Standing by my Side”.
Marinella’s voice is like butter, slicing through the original record so softly and with passion. The remixers on this case really take it to another level in forms of energy.
With the Fred Numf remix, we have a big room peaker that has some excellent saw tooth action going on.
The Gutterstylz remix is sublime, with rhodes chords and Bruce Aisher‘s wizardry in orchestrating a perfect synchronization between the original and the sexy new arrangement
he’s come up with. The Lemon Missile remix is fabulous as well; a very deep melodic house approach that is extremely hypnotic and out of this world.
The Mike Hoska remix is more aggressive and baseline oriented; a very nice chuggy boomer to get things moving on the dancefloor.
Support has been far reaching for this release, ranging from the likes of Armin Van Bureen to Danny Howells to Tiësto to Desyn Masiello to Ferry Corsten to Herman Cattaneo.
A must have release !
